From the shores of Kristiansand, Norway, Archipelagic presents a soundscape both as elegant and treacherous as the ocean and small rugged islands that have shaped its members.

Henrik Kjelsrud (guitar), Simen Høgdal Pedersen (vocals, guitar), Thor Einar Isaksen (drums) and Maarten van der Eynden (bass guitar) started their musical voyage together in 2001, through the hard rock band In Minor. 

From 2008 onwards, Henrik, Simen and Thor Einar took the groups’ musical journey to the next level and new shores in the form of a hard hitting trio, creating a more melodious sound, and coining the term “Deathpop” to describe it in the process.

After a few quiet years, the group is now reunited as a quartet, and is exploring new waters under the name Archipelagic. With roots firmly planted in the melancholy, stoner-esque hard rock that encapsulates the sound of their work in the past, the band is now venturing into a creative landscape where more tempo and melody adds to what is becoming an increasingly varied sound. A sound that invites the crowds to join in shouting their melodious choruses, as well as participating in a good old headbangig experience.
